What Is Graphic Design For?: Type- Blackout.

One of my current favourites in the typography world- Blackout is a bold, edgy typeface with a great deal of impact- narrowly kerned for extra aesthetic volume and effect.

Reminisant of the style created by papercut designs, I was instantly attracted to this typeface, having created a similar style myself in past projects by filling the counter by hand after realising how much more presence this gave the text on the page. This style, of course- does it for you- certainly a time saver and less risk when it comes to print in terms of poorly aligned fills, etc.

This typeface would work on any scale with impact and a great deal of presence- and would be quite well suited to music magazines or journals- edgy, cool and bold.
