What Is Design for Print?//Manual Research//COSTINGS.

Most printers will be able to provide an estimate for your professional print- whether it be online, face-to-face or over the telephone. A great example from 'ask print' (see screenshots above, and to the right) demonstrates the particular fields for consideration and how your print job will be costed accordingly (paper sizes, binding type, stock, etc). It is imporant to find out the cost PER UNIT (per printed item, e.g- one book, one flyer, one poster out of the entire print job, eg 1,000 books) as this will give you the best guide in terms of value for money.

It is important to shop around when it comes to print, to ensure you get the best value for money- talking to printers, visiting their workshops and seeing examples of their printed outcomes can help determine a more focused idea of which printer is most suitable for your needs.
