Continuing from my existing research of the branding of Elle Magazine, I decided to look more into fashion photography and magazine brands by looking at perhaps what is considered as one of the most influentual fashion magazines in the world- Vogue, with a bold, fashion-forward style and ethos which is run by the distinct and iconic editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour.
Again, in a similar fashion to Elle, the typographic design on the Vogue covers is general kept to a minimum, with the distinctive serif uppercase typeface title, and a balance of bold serif uppercase type and decorative serif italics to create a balance between contemporary modernism and feminine elegance- also often balancing just two colours between the cover type to ensure that a balanced and clean look is achieved. Again, this consistency is carried out throuhgout the website, which is something I hope to achieve for student photographer, Jessie Leong's own personal brand and identity design; developments of which can be found on my Design Practice blog.
