Speaking From Experience: Existing Tea Towel Designs.

Researching exisiting tea towel designs to give inspiration for my own designs- encorporating my high-energy foods which help overcome the tiring lifestyle of BA (Hons) Graphic Design.

One of my favourite designs of recent times- Gemma Correll's Corgi tea towel which celebrated the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton- a hint of kitsch with a playful and unique twist- with the addition of the royal family's beloved dogs, Corgis as the central image- a fun piece of memorabilia and interesting use of textures in the image.

Another design from the Behance Network- a charmingly illustrative design by Rachel Williams with "storm in a teacup"- really like the minimal two colours plus stock she has used (keeps the design bold and unfusy) aswell as her lines and textures in the work- a really bold image, it would be spoilt with too much embellishment.

Found by designer Emma Williams on the Behance Network, Emma cleverly screenprinted a hand-drawn design onto teatowels, which she sent along with a CV and covering letter to employers so they that could get a feel for her personality, what her interests were and what makes her tick. A really clever idea- very expressive design.
