Design Practice III//Existing Society Branding (Ballet Society).


After meeting up with University of Leeds Ballet Society President, Carys, yesterday, to discuss potential ideas in terms of branding and promotion, as well as product outcomes, we talked about how, fundamentally, the society is without branding as a whole. One of the particular areas of focus, of course, is on logo development, where I was directed to the society (dance) website, and saw that there was a 'No Image' where the logo would ordinarily be.

The majority of the logos existing for the other dance societies on the page were, frankly, rather cliched and dated, and looked a lot more like stock imagery than a considered and developed logo. Hopefully, over the next couple of weeks I'll be able to develop a design that will really stand out among the others and give the society the gravitas and professional image that such a popular and successful group deserves.
