Tomoko Takashi is a Tokyo- born artist, who now resides in the United Kigdom after studying at Goldsmiths College and the Slade School of Fine Art- and has since made strong bonds and connections with the Saatchi Gallery (after exhibiting in the 1999 "Neurotic Realism" show), who have described her work as "organised chaos", of course, in the most complimentary of ways.
Her most notable medium of work is instillation art, which is often constructed from "rubbish"- household items, road signs, and other items that people may consider to be "throw away" or "kitsch".
In 2000, she was shortlisted for the Turner Prize.
