Researching more into James Maxwell for the Architectural branding project which I'm proposing for one of my ten negotiated briefs, I decided, after speaking initially to James about his design preferences, to explore them a little more through his Pinterest account, and to see how his own tastes reflect his design portfolio, and how they could potentially effect the outcome of both the digital and print- based media I produce for him.

From the selection chosen, James' taste seems to be very clean, contemporary and geometric- with a use of strong, robust materials such as dark woods and concretes that would be visually communicated very effectively through the use of greyscale/monochromatic branding.

Also, from previous discussions, I've learnt that James is a real Thomas Heatherwick fan, so it'll be interesting to look at his Architectural studio and see whether their branding, or indeed the architecture itself could effect the brand outcomes I propose for James- potentially exploring geometry, for example with the use of bi-folds and concertina portfolio(s). Definitely something that I look forward to exploring, the design developments of which can be found on my Design Practice blog.
